Yesterday was the last day of my week-long training camp for The World Race. I had no idea what to expect going into the week. Now that I’m on the other side, I can confidently say that nothing could have prepared me for the roller coaster of a week I experienced. Some moments I would ask myself what the heck I had gotten myself into, and I was ready to quit. Other times I was having the time of my life, and all I could think about was how much I loved the people I was surrounded by and how I couldn’t wait to travel the world with them spreading God’s love.
I went into the week being terrified of how I would connect to the people on my squad of about forty and even more so how I would connect to the people of my team of 6 or 7. I will be going to the same countries as the people of my squad – we will do debriefs together and meet up monthly for a few days. My team, on the other hand, will be the people I will live with 24/7. We’ll see the best and worst of each other. Both my team and my squad turned out to be incredible.

Right – Team Anathallo (From left to right) Simone, Lisa, Justin, Sam, me, Alysse, and Katy
With what I have heard several people refer to as one of the most challenging weeks of The World Race behind me, I can begin my final month of preparations to leave. The month will be full of quality time with friends and family, celebrating my 22nd birthday, getting my vaccinations, packing, continuing to raise financial support, many hard goodbyes, and much more. I’m excited to see my squad again in a month of so, but I’m going to make sure I soak up the last month I have in the States with the people I love.
Thank you all so much for the support and encouragement you have shown me so far.
If you would like to donate, just click one of the many “Support Me!” links on this page or the “Support” link at the bottom right of the screen. I still have a little over $3,000 to raise before August 18th and about $12,000 in all! I need all the help I can get!

With love,
