The little red dot on the left is me…look closely.

When we entered Thailand we were only given a visa for 15 days. Our ministry here lasts longer than that so in order to get another 15 day visa we had to leave the country and come back. We are about two hours away from Laos so we headed in that direction.

After a two hour trip in the truck, at least an hour waiting at the border for our paperwork to clear, forty minutes ride in another truck we arrive at our guesthouse for the weekend. To our wonderful surprise there was air con in the rooms. Then we loaded up in a truck again and headed to a waterfall. It was amazingly beautiful! We saw it from the top and then we headed down a lot of steps to the bottom. It was so big!

Rachael and I decided to climb across the rocks to touch the wall of the waterfall. This proved to be interesting as we crawled through a tiny cave and we had slippery shoes. Still after much laughter we made it successfully! Then we wandered back and took a swim in the water.

That night we went out for dinner. I had a cheeseburger that was pretty decent and others had pizza. It ended a great day with a great meal. It was a fun little trip to Laos and definitely worth it.

By Far the coolest thing that happened while we were gone was that I was able  to read my paperwork by myself.  I have had to have help with this since I took off my glasses and for teh first time I could read itwithout a teammate to help me.  Gode is healing my eyes and it is so cool when I can do something new.
