“Your love never fails, never gives up, never runs out on me.” – One Thing Remains
“I know who goes before me. I know who stands behind. The G-d of angel armies is always by my side” – Whom Shall I Fear
“We will overcome by the blood of the lamb the the word of our testimony. Everyone: overcome” – Overcome
“Lead me to the cr-ss, where Your love’s poured out” = Lead me to the cr-ss
“Heal my heart AND make it clean! Open up my eyes to the things unseen! Show me how to love like you have loved me.” – H-sanna
“And I don’t have time to maintain these regrets when I think about the way You love us!” – How He Loves
As believers, our worship should not be limited to singing songs on Sunday morning. Our worship should not consist of how many Hillsong or J-sus Culture albums we own. It shouldn’t be about how many times we raise our hands during a song or how loud our voices can get.
Our life should be a daily surrender and cross-carrying life to worship our Daddy who loves us more than we will ever comprehend.
But what if we lived out what we sing about? What if we actually believed the words we sing on Sunday morning? Let me ask you something:
Do you actually believe that G-d’s love never fails, never gives up, or ever runs out on you?
Okay, well, do you actually believe that you can overcome ANYTHING because the G-d of angel armies is on your side? Even if it’s only by the word of your testimony?
Would you actually go if J-sus came to you and lead you to His cross?
Do you let G-d break your heart for what breaks His? Do you get so intimate with Him that you can love the way He loves you?
Do you walk in the freedom and grace G-d has given through in Jesus Christ or do you remain in regret even for a moment?
Are you willing to love G-d more than what this world, yes even the Christian world, has told you is enough to worship as much as possible?
If you study God’s word, you’ll see that you don’t have to walk in shame or condemnation because YOU are in Chr*st J-sus. (Rom 8:1)
G-d IS on your side. (Rom 8:31)
He wants to be intimate with you!
He WILL lead you! (Psalm 16:11, Psalm 32:8)
Your words have power because of G-d!! (that means your testimony, too! No matter what it is!) (Revelation 12:11)
Next time you hear to a worship song, I challenge you to take a moment and actually listen to what it’s saying. If you are not familiar with the biblical context of it: look it up! If you know G-d’s word confirms it’s lyrical validity, are you willing to believe it in your heart?
The point of this blog isn’t to tell you to sing more or to rely on worship songs for truth, but it is meant to challenge you to use every tool G-d has given us to get closer to Him! The songs you sing have biblical truth. Are you going to keep on singing as if they’re just some words with some notes by some person who writes? Are you willing to get more intimate with G-d with your musical worship?
