I have 33 days until goodbye unless…….

33 days. I have 33 days to raise $3,053. September 30th is my next deadline to have a total of $11,000 in my account in order for me to stay on the race. So why am did I include Genesis 22 in this blog?
Because God told me to give up music, electronics, and internet this month
Goodbye technology for month 3.
That’s right: I am giving my squad leader my laptop all of September and one of my team mates my iPod. I am allowed to listen to music played by others and to participate in worship, but I cannot listen or use my iPod for anything other than to check my personal finances account. Every chance I have to listen to music: I do it. Every chance I have to check my facebook or AIM account and worry about how I’m going to reach the deadline: I do it. Every time I have an opportunity to spend alone time with God: I run to my music, movies, games, etc that is stored in my iPod or laptop.
I know that my “sacrifice” is nothing compared to what Abraham did with Isaac, but I know that the Lord has asked me to sacrifice it for the month and I know He WILL provide those funds. He knows the outcome of how this month is going to go. He already knows my struggles and He already knows what I’m going to grow in and learn through this month. I need to prove to myself that I love God more though. I love the Lord and I want to prove that I trust Him. I am thankful for this challenge from Him because even though it may seem foolish to some, I know this is not something I could have thought up of myself and He doesn’t ever back out of a promise. This is my last blog to you until October unless I hand-write one and give a teammate to post it for me.
