-you may get to revisit college life and live in dorm style rooms
-your team may decide that you are housewives for the month and come up with new names and embrace being “mothers.” (My mom name is Debbie)
-you may get to celebrate Easter with your host and eat a delicious meal
-you may get to play volleyball EVERY DAY!
-you may get to work with Hope for the World Albania and get to love on the teens living there.
-you may visit a rotating coffee shop overlooking Tirana.
-you may find coffee shops on every single corner of the street. You may even find multiple right beside each other. Needless to say coffee is not in short supply in Europe.
-you may get to ride cable cars to the top of a mountain and enjoy a spectacular view of the whole city of Tirana.
-you may go to a bridal shop and try on a couple of wedding dresses just for fun.
-you may get to attend a soccer game and get in for free and sit in the VIP section.
-you may get to go to the ballet.
-you may experience many versions of the toilet: squatty, toilet with no toilet seat, regular toilet, and bidet.
-you may discover that the word Toilet is the best way to figure out where the bathroom is.
-you may get to explore a 2400 year old castle.
-you may get to learn how to cook an Albanian meal.
-you may get to visit the coast town of Durres where there is an amphitheater where Apostle Paul preached.
-you may get to cook an American meal for the Albanian hosts
-you and some of your teammates may decide to come up with a dance and perform it at a “talent show” at the Hope Center.
-you may get to take a ferry to visit Corfu, Greece for a couple of days.
-you may have to use google translate to figure out how to run the washing machine.
-you may come to discover that the word “car” is actually an offensive word in Albania.
These are just a few things we encountered while here in Albania.
