These are a few things that may happen when in Montenegro…
-you may go on a little shopping spree because you have limited warm clothes because you have been in African and Asian heat for the past 6 months.
-you may decide to walk in the freezing rain to the mall and get drenched.
-you may get to live in trailers for a month
-you may get to go bowling
-you may learn how to snowboard at a ski resort that ends up not having electricity due to a snow storm that hit.
-you may make it onto local television.
-you may befriend the bowling alley owner and receive free drinks and an hour of playing pool
-you may go to a symphony with a couple from your church
-you may get invited to be on local television (again) by the owner of the television station.
-you may use a heater as a blow dryer.
-you may cook most of your meals with the access of two small hot plates.
-you may get to feed a few homeless people
-you may get blessed by two little gypsy boys who buy you Pepsi and chocolate.
-you may have to hand wash your clothes in a bathtub
-you may have a little kitten join your team
-you may attend a conference with all the Montenegrin Christians which is about 150.
-you may meet a cute Ukrainian couple who invite you to their apartment for dinner.
-you may go to Hard Rock Cafe
-you may get treated to lunch and ice cream by a couple from England and their friends from England and South Africa.
-you may teach those 4 new friends the game of “what are the odds.”
-you may get to witness a baptism of a local
-you may go on an adventure with your teammate and take a train ride to a city on the coast.
-on that train ride you may meet a precious old man whom you can’t communicate with but somehow still end up having a great conversation.
-you may get to explore ruins of the old town of Bar.
-you may get to climb up 1300 stairs to explore an old castle
We are now in Albania and have debrief for a few days. We will head to our ministry sites on Saturday with our new teams! I will keep you posted on who I will be spending this next month with!
