Here is a little bit about Thailand and things that we encountered/did while in Chiangmai, Thailand last month.
Enjoy!
**it has been edited a little b/c of Vietnam being a closed country
When in Thailand:
-you may get to ride an elephant
-you may get to go bamboo rafting
-you may get to film a music video in an orchid/butterfly farm
-you may get to go bungee jumping
-you may cook a family dinner at a hostel
-you may ride in songthaews (trucks with caps and seats in the bed of the truck)
-you may get to chat with monks
-you may get to teach kids ninja
-you may dress up as a pregnant lady for Halloween
-you may get to joke around with monks
-you may get to see G work in amazing ways/you will see G work
-you may get to have a Halloween party
-you may come to find that the city is a lot like America except for Thai signs and people
-you may get to set off lanterns like in tangled
-you may get to go to a lantern festival
-You may get to climb sticky waterfalls
-you may get to work with some great ladies in the cafe and build some great relationships with them (I didn’t work in the cafe but two other teams did)
-you may meet some great people in the bars and you may help bring them out of the bars (again I didn’t do that but two other teams did)
-you may walk for an hour trying to find a pool and wander around the street “yelling” help! (We found the pool thank goodness)
-you may spend more money than you expect to because Thailand has so many things and so much to do!
-you may get to shower on a rooftop
-you may get to workout with squad mates on a rooftop
-it may take you four hours to get across the border
-you may gain a criminal record in Thailand because you stayed a day later than expected
-you will find smoothies and coffee shops everywhere! Coffee from a tiki hut is the best.
These were just a few things that happened. Thailand was a challenging and rewarding month. It was great getting to spend time with the squad and continuing to build those relationships with them.
So now we are in Vietnam after 47 hours of travelling. We are still getting settled but are excited about the possibilities that Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) has for all of us! Please keep us in your thoughts!
