So it’s month 2 and we are in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  I realized that you guys have not had a chance to meet my team yet so I want to use this blog to introduce you to the wonderful Hungry Youngsters.

First we have Katie Allen:

Katie Allen is our wonderful team leader.  She is in charge of keeping us in line 🙂 Just kidding.  She is so great!  She always has a huge smile on her face and is so full of joy at all times!  She is someone I trust and I know that she will always be there for me if I need her.  She loves to laugh and have fun but she also worries about us like a mom would.  It’s wonderful.  Katie has such a heart for God and is always so ready to serve us and the community around her.  I’m excited to see what God has in store for her.

Next we have Chase Bonning:

Chase is a quiet, fun, protective big brother.  He loves to get to know people and is very intentional.  He basically keeps our team from getting too injured.  He always comes up with these ridiculous puns and you can’t help but laugh at them.  He may not let us pet stray dogs or cats but I guess it’s for our own good.  He has such a prayerful heart and is always willing to take the lead in just about everything.  He also has such a heart to serve God and to serve us in so many ways.  It’s going to be great to see the journey that God has for him this year.

Third is Megan Moffitt:

Megan is a fun, outgoing, loving person.  She is always willing to go with the flow but she also doesn’t just conform to whatever someone suggests.  She will let us know if she doesn’t agree with something which is great!  She has such a loving attitude and has a way with kids.  Every kid we meet is drawn to Megan at some point.  I love Megan’s “chill” attitude and her willingness to serve our team in any way she can.  She has so much to offer our team and I’m excited to see what God has in store for her in these next 9 and a half months.

Next we have Scott Perez:

Scott is a crazy, outgoing, fun, and a great dancer.  We can always count on Scott to make us laugh.  He is someone who loves the Lord so much and has so much wisdom to offer.  He isn’t afraid to ask questions about things he doesn’t understand.  Scott is someone that I know I can be sassy with and he will just dish it right back at me.  It’s pretty great.  He has such a desire to grow in his relationship with God and he has challenged me in more ways than one.  I’m excited to see how God is going to work in his life this year.

Finally, we have Carli Torti:

Carli is a woman with a lifetime of knowledge.  She has travelled all over the world already and has been able to share her experiences and her advice with us to help us who are less travelled (aka, me).  Carli and I are complete opposites and I am so glad that we are.  She has helped me come out of my shell little by little and I know she will continue to challenge me each and every day.  Carli is full of so much wisdom and is always willing to try new things (unless it’s meat since she is a vegetarian).  I know God has a great plan set out for her in the next few months and it’s going to be great seeing him reveal it little by little.

So these are the Hungry Youngsters!  We are all so very different but we do share one or two things in common…first is the obvious one: we love Jesus and are loving this crazy adventure we are on.

Secondly, we are all pretty competitive. 🙂 The competitiveness comes out when the games start happening.  It’s pretty comical to watch us all play games together.  But other than the competitive sides of us we are all fairly different and that’s why our team works.  So now hopefully you know my team a little better and now you know who you are praying for!

Thailand has been great for all of us so far.  We are enjoying the monk conversations and playing soccer with the kids in the slums. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we have two weeks of ministry left.  Pray that we can build relationships with the monks that we have talked to already.

Thanks again for your continued support!

Love you all!
