My gosh, God has been SO good!!!  For those of you that read my last blog, you know that my desire has been to know the Lord and His Word deeper and more intimately than ever…well, what you’ve heard is true! – Ask and you shall receive!

I’ve been reading through Genesis the past month or so and the theme that’s been sticking out to me like crazy is the obedience that Noah and Abraham have.  So many times the Lord gives direction-out of the ordinary, very questionable in human terms direction-, and what do they do?  They listen and move!  So I’ve been thinking about what true obedience to the Lord looks like.  With that I’ve realized that I can get stuck wondering and waiting for Him to give me this crazy painting on the wall that spells it out for me.  I’ve been asking Him over and over to reveal His will in different areas of my life, and at the end of the day I feel like I’m no farther along than when I asked the first time!  Sound familiar?  Well, what if that’s the Lord giving us the freedom to choose??

“if not now, when??”

Psalm 37:4 says, *Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.*

Think about it!  As we find our delight and fullness in the Lord, He gives us the desires of our heart!  If you think about the things that your heart longs for, whether that’s a passion you’d like to pursue for your job, ministry, relationship or whatever the heck it may be!, the Lord wants to give you that desire!  He is waiting for you to ask Him for it!  And not only that, He wants you to ask expectantly!

So often I hear, “this is what I really want to do, but is it what the Lord wants?’  A fair question, however, how often do you think we hold ourselves back from the crazy awesome things that the Lord wants to do through us because we’re stuck waiting for lightening to strike.  If our hearts desires align with the will of God – which to me is to glorify Him and bring His light and goodness wherever we may go, then why not move and see what the Lord does through that movement!?  We are much more likely to not be used in our stagnant states then in moving forward in some way.

The Holy Spirit lives inside of us, and as long as our desires are according to His will, we are to pursue those things and expect that He will deliver just as any good father would do for his children.

I feel like the Lord’s been showing me that this is a year of movement and action!  I’ve been running up a storm, picked up the guitar and started to crochet!  He’s given me a huge desire to be in the Word and develop a deeper foundation in Him which has been SOO GOOD!  I was reminiscing about random things that I never aactually thought I’d do in my life and literally about a month later EVERYTIME! that little baby desire came to life on the race!  God wants our life to be joyful and full of life!  He wants to bless us and show us the love that He has for us as we pursue Him!

Sometimes you just have to jump and trust that He’ll catch you!

Nothing that we can do will EARN these things, it’s all by His amazing grace. Man oh man. Blows me AWAY!  There’s so much more, but I’ll save it for another time 🙂

Thanks for reading what the Lord’s teaching me about, and be free to ask your Father the desires of your heart!  He’s ready and waiting 🙂
