I find this whole blogging thing to be quite difficult for me.
There has been so much going on in the past couple months that I do not even know where to begin or what to say!
So I will begin typing and see where my fingers take me.
Spring is here! Finally!
The dark cold has been lifted and the sun shines bright once again!
What I love so much about spring is the transitional aspect of the season.
Things that were once dead,
cold,
rozen,
are coming back,
returning to life,
refreshed and renewed by the sun and the rain.
The trees are budding,
the grass is greening,
and the birds are singing.
The earth has awakened from the slumber of winter.
The sun has returned to warm the ground and give life.
Everything has new beginning.
Including us.
The blue skies and sunshine beckon us out of our homes.
No more lazy snow days.
No more excuses to stay inside.
Runners dash off the treadmill to hit the pavement,
bikers gear up for miles of pedaling,
kids chase and play at the playground,
gardeners break out their spades to prepare the soil for planting.
It truly is a beautiful time of year.
There is an energy about springtime that cannot be ignored.
The thing about spring that is so fascinating to me is the fact that the entirety of this transitional season points to God and His redemptive plan.
Winter to spring.
Death to life.
He calls those which were dead in their transgressions to new life.
He makes us new, whole.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!"
Because of Christ, because of His death and glorious resurrection, we are made alive.
We now have our own resurrection story to tell.
We must die, in order to receive the new life Christ has for us.
We must put self to death, in order for Christ to live in us.
God is in the business of redeeming, reclaiming, restoring.
Have you been reclaimed as God's own?
Are you allowing Him to restore you?
Are you living as a new creation,
forgiven,
washed,
loved?
If you are not, stop living however you are living.
Claim resurrection!!
Live forgiven and live free!
Let God cultivate your heart.
Allow Him to tend to your soul.
Then, own this truth.
Own this life that God has planted in you.
Live changed, restored, redeemed.
"Awake, O sleeper,
and rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you."
