Aforementioned, training camp is where you get to put faces to Facebook pictures, and to get to know the people on your squad. To fill you in more on the terminology, your squad consists of all the racers going on the same route. We may not necessarily be in the same location together, but we will be in the same country. I’m blessed to be a part of 3rd generation iSquad! iSquad is made up of some pretty amazing people from all over the United States and Canada. There are about 40 racers, and we also have 3 squad leaders. Our squad leaders have already gone on their own 11 month World Race experience. Not only do we have squad leaders that will be on the field with us, but we also have coaches. Our coaches (Amy + David, “our squad parents”) will come visit us for a week at a time throughout the year. We also have a team of other leaders that will be in Georgia.
A huge aspect of the training camp experience is doing team building activities. Near the end of the week, after many, many, team building activities, we are placed onto our teams. A team is the group that you will live with 24/7 throughout the year. You will always be with these people. Multiple teams might be together for a month at a time, or you could just be with the members on your team. Our squad is divided into 6 teams total. My team is made up of 5 other strong females, and I am so excited to launch with them in September. These are the ladies I will be spreading God’s love with for the next year!
“The only thing constant is change” is a fairly common statement with the World Race. With that said, we were updated while at training camp of our new route. Routes are always subject to change. In fact, it could even change an hour before heading to our next country. There are various reasons for this, whether its safety, contacts, etc. Here is an update of iSquad’s new route:
Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Swaziland, Botswana & South Africa
FUNDRAISING UPDATE
Huge shout out to all my friends and family! I am so blessed and thankful to have you all in my life surrounding me with such love and support. Its really unfathomable the support that I have received through this.
With that said, I’m currently 40% funded! Thats a little over $6,500. My next deadline is approaching quickly, however. I’ll need at least $7,500 in my account by August 18th, 2014. In order for checks to be processed in time, they must be sent in by August 8th. As for online donations, they can take 2-3 days to process.
In June, I had a very successful garage sale. My sweet mama is also planning another garage sale for September, after I leave, to raise more money for me.
I have t-shirts and tank tops now available for purchase! Both come in multiple colors!
Tank tops can be found at this link: http://teespring.com/AndreasWorldRace
T-shirts can be found at this link: http://teespring.com/AndreasWorldRace2
A sweet family friend, Karen, has donated a handmade quilt to me to be raffled off. And it is beautiful! I’m currently selling raffle tickets for $5 each, or 3 for $11 (to follow the 11 countries 11 months theme..) If you or anyone you know is interested in this, please let me know! I will be having a drawing at the end of August, right before I leave.
An opportunity to have a Thirty-One fundraiser has also been given to me. I will have more information on this in the upcoming days, and will post more on my facebook account as soon as I can.
If you haven’t already, I would love for you to subscribe to my blog so you can get updates as soon as I post something.

Thanks again for all the love, support and prayers.
