Hey All,
Still chilling or roasting in Cambodia (I love roasting by the way). Our team loves these little girls and we have wanted to give them something to remind them of Christ’s love for them once we leave. This really hit my heart hard. Yes, they see us, but I don’t want them to be sad and have their self-worth diminish once we hit the road. We want them to understand Christ is working with them through us. So, I had this idea that we should have them paint/color/draw pictures of their favorite Bible verses and then we hang them all over their house. They absolutely embraced this and loved doing it! It is super awesome because now they have little encouraging art all around to remind them of Christ’s love for them! The coolest thing is that they made it themselves!
We also did a lesson about Noah’s Ark and had them make clay figures of animals. Again, they spent about two hours making their ark animals.
I hope to do a lesson with them about Moses. Moses actually struck my heart very hard before I left for this trip. With the anticipation of traveling to India, once again, got me thinking about adoption. Most of these girls will be living in this house until they are old enough to make it on their own. Anyway, Moses is an adoptee so I feel his story will touch them as it has touched me. My team has asked me to deliver the message because of my intimacy with the issue. Of course, I am honored to use some of my personal testimony to speak life into these girls.
