So, recently I have been very frustrated with the injustice that human trafficking poses to its victims. I have had my own with struggle with God on the issue as well. One question in particular has ran through my mind: how can God let this happen? Yes, trust me I feel and have felt guilty for even questioning. However, this question came to a HUGE boiling point last night. I felt immense ANGER towards the issue in general. No, I was not mad at God; I was frustrated. I prayed over it and got some much needed clarity from a squadmate.
The conclusion: We are NOT meant to understand the injustices of this world. God IS and ALWAYS has been BIGGER than them all. There is a bigger picture we just can’t grasp. Don’t hear me wrong on this: we cannot grasp it because he doesn’t want us to, but it is just NOT the right time to reveal it yet. If there is anything I know it is that God’s timing is very different than my own.
I do want to mention that God is fighting the injustice of human trafficking EVERYDAY. I can’t tell you how many articles I notice now about ending this global trade!!!! One hit home with me today, thanks mom for alerting me to it. It hit home because it was in my home state of MINNESOTA.
Feds Bust Human Sex Trafficking Ring in Minnesota
Early Monday morning, federal, state and local police started arresting people in several states in connection with the human trafficking ring. Twenty-nine people were indicted and 17 of them are from Minnesota.
Investigators say the Somalian gangs who operated the ring forced young girls into sex for money and drugs. The Somalian gangs transported the young girls across state lines into four different states to keep their operation undercover. The indictments also indicate that several of the suspects are accused of committing robberies and stealing credit cards to help finance their illicit sex ring.
The indictments say the four women and children who were forced into the prostitution ring range in age from 12 to 18. If convicted of the most serious charges, the sex ring suspects could face between 15 years to life in prison.
