Can you imagine waking up to your father raping you? Or being beaten by your mother with a metal rod? How about a glass bottle? How about your mom kicking you out of the house to live on the streets at the age of 1? Maybe it’s better at the age of 3, 4, 8, 9, or maybe 14?? Yeah… maybe not.

Unfortunately these are just a few of the circumstances several kids in the Legazpi City area have had to experience. Instead of just hearing about these occurrences, I want to introduce you to a few kids and tell you their personal stories:

Benjho (15), Anna (14), and Lala (12): These 3 siblings were left with their father by their mother who wanted to start a new family. Unfortunately, their father has been in prison for several years. The kids had no one to look after them.

Sandra (14): Sandra was born to her sister, a product from her father’s raping. Her sister, a mere child herself conceived Sandra.

Gerry Mae (13): Gerry Mae is currently 13 years old. At the age of 10, Gerry Mae’s father started raping her. His daughter. She was powerless to stop this from happening, so for over a year she had to endure this from her dad.

Shiela (14), Amalia (9), Angelica (8), Piolo (4), Kimberly (3) and Ruben (1): Six siblings roamed the streets in Legazpi City and Daraga. They begged for food, food money, for anything. Their mother, an employee of the oldest profession, prostitution, couldn’t be bothered to love them or care for him. She was only worried about her next fix, a fix for both her drug additions and her sexual desires.

Aron (11) – Aron's mother was murdered. His father took him on a bus and dumped him off in Legazpi City, never to be seen again.

Markus (16): Markus grew up on the streets of local towns following his mother from bar to bar. She would abandon him in one town and flee to the next, only to be found again by Markus. He loved his mom, but she felt him nothing but a burden.

Julio (6) and Julia (5): For the first years of the lives, all this brother and sister knew was the abuse of a parent. Their mother chose different weapons for her two children; for little Julio, she preferred to beat him with a metal rod… for Julia, a glass bottle.

Edward (11) and Samuel (9) – Edward and Sam had been living on the street for four years after their mother abandoned them there to starve.

What would the lives of these kids look like in a year? How about in 5 years? I have no desire to know. But thankfully they won’t have to experience what life would look like with out their Savior and His love.
