In October I was asked to be one of the Unsung Hero Coordinators for A-Squad, and since then I couldn’t wait to reach the field. Finally, month 4 was my team’s time to help write the lyrics for some Unsung Heroes in Costa Rica:
Conexion – San Jose/Orotina de Santa Rita
Conexion is an organization here in Costa Rica that longs to bring the love of Jesus to the Ticos (Costa Ricans). They do so much; hosting free medical clinics in the impoverished areas, helping educate the youth, uniting pastors in Jesus. They are reaching the people of Costa Rica with the love that they’ve found in Jesus.

Pearl Process Mosaics – San Jose
This is an Operation Mobilization ministry that reaches out to women in the slums of San Jose. These women get to work together, making beautiful mosaics out of broken glass. They have found worth in what they do and they know that the broken pieces of their lives can also be put together beautifully. These women are opening bank accounts for the first time and have be able to move their families out of the slums.

Faithful Servant Ministries – San Ramon
Cheryl and her team have such a heart for the slums in San Ramon. She longs to see them educated and in love with Jesus. The youth of Bajo Tejares are able to come to FSM and gain so much; they have the ability to learn to read, to learn English, to play, to eat, to grow. They hope to enable these families to sustain a healthy life; physical, mentally and spiritually.

Mighty Rivers – San Bosco
Peace in the jungle. Mighty Rivers is a new ministry located in the jungle of Talamanca and they long to help out the indigenous tribes that are found there. Mighty Rivers hopes to teach them how to live off their land and sustain a healthy lifestyle despite circumstances.
** The dairy cows by Mighty Rivers (they make great cheese, milk and ice cream!)
Concrete Jungle Skate Park – Puerto Viejo
This skate park ministry was brought to Puerto Viejo ten years ago to help the youth in the area. The couple that currently runs this ministry, Jeremy and Kerbi are living life with the kids; helping them learn values, skills, and the importance of loving one another. While the skate park is only open 4 nights a week, Jeremy and Kirby spend their days pouring into the youth.
** Some of the kids relaxing during skate night
This retreat center is used to host pastors and churches while they take classes and learn what its like to serve others and to share Christ’s love.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody!
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!
~Psalm 98
Let’s not let their songs go unsung. Any love, prayers or support you want to share with these ministries would be greatly appreciated.
Singing Him Praises,
Amy
