Honduras has been awesome! Here are some of the things that we’ve encountered since we’ve been here:
- Animals, again, are everywhere. In Guatemala we had an abundance of dogs, here it’s more like, Old McDonald’s animals escaped, E. I. E. I Oh goodness! Horses run around. Wild. Bulls, oxen, and cows frequent the roads we travel. Pigs squeal across the street, Roster hang out in trees. Dogs, dogs and more dogs. It’s a farm out there.
- Our bus has had to slam on its breaks at least twice for horses crossing the street
Streets are not paved so well, like really bad if paved at all. We spend a lot of time on the back roads and in the back of pickups. The combination creates interesting situations. I actually almost fell out of a truck on our way to the ministry just this week J - ATMs don’t always have money
With the conversion rate of 20/1, everything we buy seems so expensive - I’m still not used to “Adios” being used as a greeting
Witchcraft is common place here, prayers for light in a dark place - The pulperia (think bodega) that we wait at in the morning has a cat on a string/lease. I have named him Gatsby, or Catsby
And some pictures for fun 🙂
