What happens when an American meets Thai culture??
Some funny moments…
1- Riding in a tuk-tuk through the city and I almost got hit in the head by an ELEPHANT’S TAIL – he was standing on the side of the road
IN town!

2- Running out of gas in the pouring rain while on a scooter- we didn’t realize that it comes completely empy when you rent it…learned to head straight to the gas station

3- Our taxi driver is wearing a “Long live the king” bracelet and I, without thinking of how the Thai king is greatly honored and always spoken very highly of, asked our driver if he was a fan of Elvis (thankfully he didn’t get it, but we couldn’t stop laughing the rest of the drive)
4- Doing the elephant and chicken dances after losing games, while our Thai friends laugh hysterically
5- Ordering off menus without pictures…never knowing what you’ll get

6- Getting pelted with rain drops the day we decide to go to Phi-Phi Islands and ride a boat all day…snorkeling in the blue-green water well worth it!

7- Went back to a bar in search of my friend “La,” but was told only “Da” and “Na” were working! 🙂 Ha! Try keeping all the names straight!
8- Remember to say “my pet” with your order (which doesn’t mean to add a pet animal, as some may think, but means “not spicy hot”)
9- Back to squatties & poor plumbing – means no TP down the tube and some good quad strengthening exercises
10- You might just find an elephant in the back yard snacking on some grass!!
