Inca Ruins Wall- (stones so perfectly fit together that you can’t even fit a knife between them!)
Horseback riding through the mts

That’s the city of Cusco (very touristy- where everyone flies in to before heading to Machu Picchu) & the Inca wall

We got to explore some of the caves that are located in the surrounding mts- the Incan people would use some of them for ceremonies

We were treated to a day at Machu Picchu after a wonderful debrief with Andrew Shearman & his family…a 4 hr trek from Cusco, which included an @ 2 hr trainride! 🙂

This lost city was abandoned in the 1500’s because the Inca people didn’t want to fight the approaching Spaniards (who never actually found the city), so they fled to the surrounding mts. The ruins were just discovered in 1911. The city was used as a ceremonial ground and training center for astronomy, witchcraft and Inca traditions- and only occupied by 100-200 at a time.
