You know you’re living the Andes mt Peruvian life when:
– Showering more than once a week is considered excessive
– Cleanliness is not next to godliness & your choice of outfit for the day is not based on style but on the sniff test
– Seeing locals taking a squat along the trails doesn’t surprise you anymore
– Having donkeys, pigs, dogs, etc walking along with you or in the middle of the soccer field is the norm
– You don’t go far without a raincoat
– Breathtakingly beautiful surroundings every direction you look
– You are always very aware of where the closest bathroom is and have a plan in place to get there quickly if needed
– Your meal wouldn’t be complete without either eggs (breakfast) or rice and potatoes (every other meal)
– “Greenga” and your real name are interchangeable and it doesn’t phase you to answer to “greenga”
– Wood must be chopped and a fire started for each meal
– One of the first questions you are asked is “Are you single?” followed by “Will you stay to populate the area with greengas?”
– You are awoken every morning to donkeys hee-hawing!
– You take your hot water bottle to bed each night to warm your feet
– Guinea pigs aren’t considered a pet, but are the favored meat
