Ometepe Island is a 45 min ferry ride from the mainland. It is basically 2 volcanoes with a little land in between, occupied by 30-35,000 people. This is Concepcion volcano in the background.
We were greeted by Helen, a Costa Rican who has been working at Cicrin orphanage for the last 17 years. 25 children live there currently, as well as a few aunts/nannies and other workers. We are living at the orphanage and eating all our meals with the children. The orphanage is right along water (which is very murky and rocky), so we are enjoying afternoon swims with the kids and gorgeous sunsets!

Just wanted to give you a quick glimpse of our time here, will post more later… we´ll be working with the orphanage as well as Miguel and Ruth´s church, outreaching in the communities, and working with their 17 cell groups.
