The journey has begun! It has been amazing to see all my teammates and the other world racers again. God has confirmed to me so many times that this is exactly where He wants me! He directs our every step and interaction. Even on the plane ride here, I sat by a middle-aged man who had just recently begun to read his Bible. We began talking about Jesus Christ, the foundations of Christianity, and looking through Scripture to answer some of his questions. I am just really hit right now at the priviledge of bearing the name of Jesus Christ and getting to advance His kingdom.
We all welcomed in the New Year together and right from the get-go, were given a full morning and afternoon to individually sit at the feet of Jesus in silence. It was an amazing time to hear from God and just praise Him for who He is and for the huge priviledge of being called to step out into this faith adventure.
A key verse He gave me for this year is Psalm 16:8- “I have set the Lord always before me, because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
Two things He spoke to me about that I want to share with you are as follows: He clearly told me that the devil is out to destroy – he is lurking and knows that we are going out with authority and ready to stomp on darkness. The Lord told me that I need to be sitting before Him every morning and walking in His strength alone or else the enemy will overpower, because in God alone is where the power is (in the name of Jesus Christ)!
He also told me that while He delights in us walking in obedience, what He really desires is for us to sit at His feet and be intimate with Him. That is what brings Him the most pleasure.
My personal goals and prayers for this next year are:
– to see God moving around the world and better know His heart
– to see lives radically changed
– to see miracles and the hand of God
– to grow in my faith
– to be bold and stand firm in my faith
– to clearly know His voice and act on what He asks of me
– to have an eternal impact on everyone I come in to contact with and for them to see Jesus in me
– be undistracted by anything that is not of God
– be constantly in prayer and in communion with God, and to experience His presence
– health and strength for whatever comes
– positive attitude and outlook, always keeping the purpose for which God has called me before me
