It’s been seven months that we’ve been out on the field and over a year since I was accepted to The Word Race and started my blog. I was so excited to get out of America and leave everything that I’d known to find new adventures, meet new people and serve God while doing it. I wanted to see changes in people’s lives all over the world and I couldn’t wait to see what God was going to do. Little did I know I would be so affected by what was going on back in the States.
I remember when I first started my blog I had a friend contact me about it. They had expressed to me how they were very encouraged about what I was about to do but they had lost their faith. They believed that God made the world but He no longer resided in it, He just sat back and watched everything from afar, and this was very hard for them because they wanted to believe in a higher power.
I prayed that God would revive them, that their eyes would be opened to see Him, that their ears would be open to hear Him.
I thought about this person and prayed for them from time to time after I left, but honestly not very often. Believe it or not The World Race keeps you very busy traveling from country to country.
Then at the beginning of this month I received a message. My friend had kept following my blog and since I started, had been given a new outlook on life, had started to change their life around and was finding their way back to Christ! They are still in the beginning stages of their faith but the most important thing is that they said yes to God and want to serve Him. How amazing is that?!
I never would have thought I would be so affected by what is happening at home. I was so encouraged and overjoyed by this story and I hope you are as well.
For this person I am writing about, you know who you are, and I want to encourage you to keep running towards God. Times will get tough and you’ll want to give up but don’t because it’ll be worth it in the end to see Him face to face.
It’s stories like yours that keep us going out here so thank you for sharing with me.
