UPDATE: I’ve had a route change! I am now on July 2014 Route 3 (which has a few different countries):

Columbia

Peru

Ecuador

Bolivia

Thailand

Cambodia

Malaysia

Japan

South Africa

Botswana

Swaziland

So why the change Amy?

Well I’m so glad you asked!  Let me tell you about it.

When I originally signed up for The World Race I admittedly signed up for a different route than the one I am on right now for selfish reasons.  Those reasons being that I wanted to go back to Nicaragua (I traveled there when I was 17), I have always wanted to visit India and Nepal (those cultures have fascinated me a lot), and have wanted to visit South Africa for the longest time (Yay!  It still looks like I will be going there!)

I signed up for The Race because that is what God was telling me to do, He put all of the cards on my lap and didn’t even give me a chance to say no (believe me, I tried).

For the past couple of weeks I had been feeling as if God was telling me I needed to go somewhere else within The Race.  I looked at the other routes, prayed about it A LOT, talked with my mobilizer about switching, and after about a week of really pondering on it, I had to make a decision.

Stay or switch?

There are more countries on route 4 that I want to see..but God’s telling me to go to route 3..

God trumps all.

I still don’t know why He had me switch, and I may not ever know; but this is me taking another obedient step towards Him so he can lead and I can follow.

I have so enjoyed meeting some of my new teammates and can’t wait to start traveling with them! They have all given me a warm welcome on our Facebook page and I think they’re pretty excited to have someone on the team who knows how to cut hair! I am very excited too! Not just to be cutting hair and to be traveling and living in that raw community; but to see how else God tells me to step out in blind faith and obedience, and see how he will be made known through it.
