I just need to share how amazing God has been to me through this fundraising process. I have so much money to raise and not a lot of time. But God doesn’t need a lot of time.
So many people would look at the fundraising bar at the top of the page and feel overwhelmed. I know I certainly did when I was first accepted. And for a while it seemed like the blue portion would never move.
I would panic about that blue bar. I wrote blogs about the panic I had over not getting the money. And then God gave me peace. And I wrote about that.
In that peace I was worried that I would be too relaxed to actively work on getting funds. When people would ask me what they could pray for I would always say, “that God would give me fundraising ideas.” Well He had other plans. He wasn’t going to give me ideas. He was going to give me a great friend to help out.
Let’s take a second to talk about this friend, Jennifer Reams. This woman is so amazing. She loves the Lord with all her heart and is so kind. I am so blessed to have her in my life.
Well, God decided not to give me fundraising ideas. He decided to speak to my friend Jen. Jen was inspired by her daughters love for art. She was given the idea to run an online art auction where kids and anyone, really, would donate art for us to sell. All profits would come to my race.
At first I thought it would be small, like a few paintings. But as time went on painting after painting poured in until we had not just paintings but jewelry, wreaths, statues, and more. We ended up with over 80 pieces of art! It was a miracle!!
There was a minimum bid of $5 so I was looking at getting $440. But I knew God had more than that planned. So I began to pray. At first my prayer was that I would get enough money to pass $10,000 raised. But as it got closer to time for the auction I didn’t feel $10,000 was enough. I needed to ask that God would surpass the $11,000 mark.
So I started to pray that God would give me enough money to surpass the $11,000 mark. The day of the art auction came and went and I made over $2,000!!!!! I was just shy of the $11,000 mark. So I told Jen about this prayer and she got so excited about making sure I got to my goal.
Next thing I know Jen is selling these beautiful canvases:

They started selling like crazy. Then I had several people from the auction just donate to my account and next thing I knew I was over the $11,000 goal I have prayed for!! God is so good!!
But God didn’t want to stop there. Since the art auction I have been given the opportunity to speak with a small group at my church where I was blessed with more funds. And I have had an opportunity come up where I will get enough money to bring me to $14,500!!!
God is so good!
