I moved to Atlanta right after I graduated  college in 2004. That is alot of memories that have been made. I have put together a list of 10 of my favorite memories during my time there. There is no way I could list them all, so here are some fun ones that I will always remeber. This list is in no specific order… just random fun. This gives my future teammates a little insight into the silly woman I am. Enjoy…

Top 10 Atlanta Memories

  1. FREEDOM: When I first moved to Atlanta I was living a life that did not bring glory to God. One of my best memories is the night I decided to leave the life of bondage I was living in and I decided to live for Christ completely. It was like a light bulb went off in my head and I knew I needed to change. Sin would control my life no more. My life became meaningful because of Christ

  1. Break and Run: I had too much fun one Thanksgiving when my mom and sister came to spend the holiday with me. After lunch we went to Old Time Pottery and I accidentally broke hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise. I think there must have been crack in my turkey because I was running around the Christmas department like a 5 year old. I thought my sis should take a picture of me and the giant dancing Frosty while we were holding hands. He got excited or something and lost his balance and back he fell. Frosty landed hard on some ornaments from Santa’s toy shop and many more breakable items. Notice how frosty is caught in the moment in the photo! You ask what was my reaction…I ran away very fast. Thank you Mom for not ratting me out so I would not be banned from that store. Although I do suspect there is still a wanted picture in their break room printed from the video surveillance!

  1. Summertime: Country music is by far my favorite type of tunes. Two summers in a row I was able to go see Kenny Chesney with my beloved friend Katie Johnston. The best part was I won the tickets the 2nd year from 94.9 The Bull. I love that radio station!

  1. Perfect Size: This past year 3 of my friends and I decided to get together once a month and go and enjoy great food and celebrate our friendship. We called ourselves the Tappas Ladies. We would try out different tappas restaurants around town and we would share life together. Sarah Lanning, Laura Shelley, and Katie Johnston you have my heart and I love you girls! Rise up women of God!

  1. Prodigal Daughter: This was one of the 1st times I went to 722. 722 is a time for singles of Atlanta to gather together in worship, praise, and listen to a speaker. The lesson was on the Prodigal Son. Louie Gigleo is a powerful man of God and gave the lesson. When I heard this lesson it was not long after I had recommitted myself to the Lord. I needed to hear the words again that my Father desperately was calling me home. Freedom fell on me that night. This was the beginning of a revolution in my soul. God started to open my eyes to see Him in a new way.

  1. It’s Showtime: One of the best summer time activity’s in Atlanta is going to Screen on the Green. The whole community comes together to watch a movie in Piedmont Park. I spent so many great summer nights out there.

  1. SITC: After I rededicated myself to God I needed girlfriends that I could live life with, laugh with, and share in God’s glory together. God brought 3 women into my life that I will always cherish. Stacey Guyse, Anna Fink, Amanda Jones, and Amy McAllister make Sisters in the City. Every time we got together we ate, cried, and laughed till we almost peed our pants. That is what friendship is all about!

  1. Happy New Year:  For my singles group NYE party in 2006 we had a Chinese New Year theme. My friend, Anna Fink, and I decided to choreograph a dance for our announcement in bible class regarding the party. We dressed up in ‘kimonos’  aka house robes and did an amazing ‘dance’ with umbrellas. Priceless!

  1. Homerun: Last year my friend Ben Swilley had 4 tickets to a Braves game and was nice enough to invite me. The seats were amazing!! I usually sit in the cheap seats so this was paradise for me. I had a blast with those boys and had the best seat in the house!

  1. 1st adult vacation: Last year I went on my 1st adult vacation. That means I actually paid for this vacation and it was supposed to more exotic then my hometown which is located by the beach. We went on a cruise and could not be more excited…till we saw the storm clouds roll in. Needless to say we enjoyed many movies in our cabin and had one afternoon of sunshine. I think I came back to Atlanta paler than when I left. It might have not been what we thought it was going to be, but we sure had fun. Did I mention we ordered every dessert they offered on the menu every night. Can’t beat that 😉
