This past month in Bolivia my team and I were “Dream Builders.” Each member of my team taught a class in an area that we are gifted in and passionate about in hopes of encouraging our students to dream big and know that they are capable of accomplishing their dreams with the help of the Lord.
I was sick in bed with a fever and stomach issues and was unable to teach my music class for the first week in Uyuni. Amy no likey. But, it was so awesome to see multiple members of my team step up and fill in where I couldn’t perform!
Anywhoo…I recovered and was back at it. My first day was also the first day for a young man named Alex. That week we invited him to the Youth service at the church that we were working with and he came. He even stayed after to watch the worship team practice (which I was asked to play piano for…only God knows why lol) He said he would be back the next day for service and he was. He came to every service after that. Which was like 4 a week. That’s how they do in South America.
Right before leaving Uyuni, Claudia (my translator/friend) and I were on the street getting some dinner and ran into Alex. He started thanking me and saying super sweet things to me and then told us that he was, get this, on his way to practice with the worship team. I was all teary eyed. Seeing the impact that just teaching a super basic music class had in such a short time was so encouraging. I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to see the fruit of our labour, to see a person drawn closer to God and into a church community in a little over a weeks time. I couldnt have imagined imagined a better way to end the month.
Please pray for Alex and the youth at the church in Uyuni, Bolivia. That they would continue to have a beautiful desire to grow in knowledge and relationship with the Jesus and would continue believing in their dreams and use them to serve the Lord!
