We had the opportunity to go white water rafting and bungee jumping in/over the Nile. I couldn’t say no. White water rafting was an experience. I have never loved the water because of the fear of  drowning. (I had an experience as a child with rafts) Anyway, we had to practice flipping the boat over because it was going to happen, and we had to know what to do. We practiced, and it was terrifying. I got water in my nose, but didn’t get caught under the boat.

After we learned all the commands we headed to the first set of rapids. We made it after watching the boat in front of us and behind us flip over. We were pretty excited. A few rapids later, we flipped. I got caught under the boat. I bumped my head on the boat as I tried to get out. I prayed for God to save me. 🙂 Then I kicked the boat off me and popped out of the water. However, waves continued to crash over me and I drank a lot of the Nile. We went through stage 3-5 rapids. Some pretty big ones. Here is one of the pictures taken as we were headed down the river.

We also got to bungee jump into the water. It was entertaining to watch. I don’t know if you have ever jumped, but it is painful. Tight ropes around your legs and blood in your head. We spun around in circles before landing in a raft. I am glad I did it, but it was definitely a once in a life time opportunity.
