We arrived in Nairobi on January 1st. We are starting the new year in a place I have been twice before. In the airport, I felt like I was home. It was nice. We stayed in the city, and I was reminded why I love it here, the people are so amazing.
The next day, we drove six hours west of Nairobi, to Eldoret, where we will be spending the next three weeks. Kenya is cold. The evenings and mornings have been chilly and we have been wearing every layer we brought, but it does get warm in the afternoon. The sky is lit with the stars and the breeze is so refreshing. We are sharing a house with Pastor Patrick, his wife, son, mother-in-law, nephew, and a few others. They gave up their beds for us, because we are their guests.
This month, we have no mirrors, bucket showers, our toilet is a hole in the ground, we don’t have internet access, but we are excited. We are living outside the city for the first time. This month is about seeking the Lord and listening to his voice. We know that we will be preaching, praying, and basking in the presence of God. I have been wanting more of this since Malaysia(well not the preaching, but God wants to challenge me), and now we have more opportunities. We expect to see big things from God this month.
I don’t know if I will have another opportunity to use internet, but if you could be praying for our time here, I would be grateful!
