For those who don’t know, the title is from a veggie tales song. 😀
My life is super busy. My weekly schedule looks like this: Monday-Friday: work at the High school, Tuesdays after school: Walmart, Thursdays after school: Youth for Christ, (until January, then Monday –Thursday will be swimming lessons, and Fridays will be Youth for Christ) most Saturdays: Babysitting, Sundays: Sunday School, sing on Praise and Worship team, family lunch, Youth Group. Some mornings I get up and work out at 5am, and I listen to an audio book version of the Bible while I drive. And somehow I still have a few moments here and there to read a good book or watch a movie with my sisters.
Why am I telling you this? It’s not because I want to make you feel sorry for me, I wouldn’t change any of it. I really feel like God is using me in all of these places. Working at the school I get to encourage a bunch of teenagers in one of the hardest places of their lives. I work directly with a lot of kids who come from rough families, and a lot of the times those kids act out their frustrations at school. Lately God has been showing me His heart for these kids. I get to work with a lot of the same kids at Youth for Christ, and it has been incredible to see how some of them have changed just in the last few years I have known them. Even working at Walmart I can be a witness to my co-workers by the way that I work. And yeah, sometimes I might complain about not having enough time, but I really honestly would not trade any of these jobs right now.
I tell you this because it’s not enough. I physically cannot work enough hours to pay my own way for this race. These jobs pay for my car, house and saving enough to put a new roof on my house. I’m hoping to have my car paid off and roof replaced before I leave, and I hope to save up enough to pay my share of the house payment for the year I will be gone.
SO…I need help. I need to raise a little over $17,000 (hopefully before I leave).
I am working on my fundraising letter right now, so it won’t be long until I have that up here and hopefully in the mail set to you! In my letter I will tell a little more about the race and what I might be doing. In the meantime, if you want to call me and ask more questions, don’t hesitate! Email or text work great too!
Thank you so much! I really can’t do this without you!
