Redirect a verb that according to the dictionary means: direct (something) to a new or different place or purpose…

It's not necessarily what you want to hear when you have a plan. I had a plan. Finish grad school. Teach for a couple more years then pursue policy and education but plans change, God moves. That is what happened. I heard the word Redirect about a week before I heard about the World Race. It wasn't a word I liked nor wanted to hear. I reminded God that I had plans. Plans I had prayed about. I thought maybe I misheard. A week later, I said, "Okay I have twenty minutes. I'll look up mission trips for twenty minutes." Those twenty minutes rocked my world and completely Redirected my path. For the next week I prayed and fasted over my decision to apply. Let me tell you, when you pray and are seriously seeking out God and searching His word for answers. He will show up. I have never felt and seen so many clear answers and direction from God on whether I should pursue going on the race. Making the decision to walk a way from my teaching job for the next year and sell many of my belongings, to walk away from the life I have built here in Austin seems a little crazy to some folks. But here is the thing, when God Redirects your steps there is a reason and a purpose.

This past weekend we had a Women's Conference: Radiant at my church. It was phenomenal. Charlotte Gambill, Christine Caine, and Lori Champion were our speakers and let me tell you they brought the house down. One thing stuck out to me on Friday night Charlotte Gambill talked about moving your chair and positioning your chair. Doing this can bring some uncomfortable moments, and can make things difficult for a while. That is what I am doing now. I'm moving my chair. I want to get closer to my Lord and Savior. I'm taking this Redirect, knowing full well that it's going to be uncomfortable, difficult, but also knowing that God is directing my path. He is making it clear and if I follow Him then there is nothing to fear.

All that being said, I am so excited about what the next year will bring! smiley
