In the States I own a house in a college town. A true gift from God, but for the last three months it felt more like a thorn. Time was approaching when there would be no more tenants in my house. I knew God would provide college students to live there because He had done so for the past four years. He has always taken care of me.

My friend's threw me a Mexican birthday one year in my festive kitchen.

When the beginning of May hit, the realization that not a single soul had shown interest in my house ran deep. Being here did not help much either. The plan that had worked out in the past failed. My trust was starting to lose its luster until one Sunday afternoon.

As I was sitting at church three Sundays ago, God brought all these names to my mind. These were not just any names, rather an army of people that I needed to invite to gather around and carry this burden of my empty house. It was not mine to carry alone. Encouragement, declarations, the words kept flowing in from these people.

During this same time, my dad put a “for rent” sign in the yard of my house. That is it. No other advertising. Then we prayed, some fasted, people fought and the Holy Spirit moved in insurmountable ways.

Ghetto on the outside, but a GEM on the inside!

For those next two weeks, my dad’s phone rang off the hook with interest. Call upon call came flooding in after months of silence. Now, just so you know my house is not located on a popular street or in a desirable part of town. None the less, car after car was directed down that rickety Ruddle Avenue by only one way: The Holy Spirit.

So here I sit, nine days before June hits and Papa God has done it again. This gift of a house has been rented out to a wonderful married couple. It is no accident that God led them to this house. As a child, the wife grew up in this same neighborhood, but moved down South when she was in her teens. In fact, she was familiar with my house because her third cousins lived in the house next door. AND her son’s family lives right up the alley.

A room full of elegance, comfort and JOY…my favorite!

I understand. They are the right people for my house, not a group of college students. He wanted them and I just needed to keep trusting His Ways. God has gone above and beyond. He has far exceeded all expectations, plans that I had. He is pretty good at that thankfully.

“Now to HIM who is able to do IMMEASURABLY more than anything we can ever ask for or imagine…to HIM be the GLORY.” Ephesians 3:20-21

Yep. Always.

He is doing IMMEASURABLY more for YOU too because He loves you! Why wouldn’t Papa God take care of us? Yet another reminder!

good time with DEAR friends before I left on the WR
