You know how I know God loves me? I look at all He has created for me, His beloved. The other day I ventured deep into the depths of one of His many masterpieces: a cave. A crew of us hopped in two cars and journeyed three hours north of Gainesville. As we crept closer to our destination, my heart was leaping and bounding deep within. There is nothing that I love more than going on an adventure with God.
Locked and Loaded…Go Time
Lots of U-turns and hours later, we had finally arrived. With my shoes laced tightly and headlamp locked in place, it was GO TIME.
As we approached the cave, I was unsure of what we were getting ourselves into. I mean I have been caving before, but never to this extent or with an experienced caver. So in we went, one right after the other. Within minutes, beauty overtook me. Boulder after boulder strategically placed, bats nesting above, and water dripping from the top, I wanted more. With every step, God's love grew stronger as He allured me deeper into His beauty. "Amy, come I have so much in store for you."
Entrance into the deep…
As I crawled on my stomach through the tight spaces and manuevered my body through the nooks and crannies, I could not help but fall more in love with my MAKER. I knew He had me. Hand in hand, we continued through His place.
We approached a hole with climbing ropes set in place to lower one deeper into the depths. With half of the group staying behind, I knew I had to go. With ropes in hand, I shimmied down with the help of others. As I set foot on the ground, I could not help but stand in AWE. From the smoothness of the rocks to the river water embracing my feet, I was fully captivated, romanced. My heart longed for more, but it was getting late and we had to turn around. A few scrapes later and mud covering me from head to toe, I emerged from with in.
Once again, God awakened me to His great love! This was just what my heart needed. I am excited to see what adventure God takes me on next. I am blessed!!
