Sawaddee! Hello from Thailand.

I know I’ve asked so many times, but I still really need your help! I need about $300 to be fully funded for the World Race! I have until the end of this month, which is less than 2 weeks away! Help me finish the World Race. Tell people how God is using me in the nations. Continue reading to see how God is working.

This month has been a lot of fun! I have been with an all girls team while the men are doing “manistry”. Team MACKEL-more includes Mandi, Amy, Civanna, Katie, E(Liz)abeth, and Lauren. Katie and I have been working with the primary classrooms teaching English and helping with math as well. We are given the freedom to teach what we choose. Sometimes it goes really well and the kids get into and other days they just stare at us like they have no idea what we’re talking about.  However, most importantly we have just been able to show them love through our actions.

One way that God has been using us is through worship. Everyday, during our lunch break, we go to lunch and then come back to our house (on campus) to spend time worshipping God. We open the doors (to let the air in) and turn on some worship music. Everyday, anywhere from 5-10 kids show up to see what we are doing.  We take this opportunity to show them love just by saying “hello” and smiling at them.

We also show them what real worship is. Maybe they don’t really know what we are doing, but I think they see something different in us. We don’t worship because we have to, we worship because we want to. They can see the love and connection we have with God and see that it is personal, not just a religion that we have to follow. We don’t have to pray and bow down to a statue for blessings or to protect us from bad things. We have a personal relationship with the one true, living God.  We worship to praise God and to connect with Him more closely during the day. God is using our worship to show Himself to these kids, to show that He is alive and that He is good!

Psalm 100:1-5 says, “Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.  Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

Think about what worship means to you. Do you worship to “receive blessing” or do you worship because God himself is the blessing?
