Training camp was pretty spectacular! Usually I don’t feel like I fit in at most social gatherings. The oddest thing is that at training camp I felt like I fit in. I didn’t feel like an outsider, but I felt like I was part of the group. As an introvert, it is hard for me to make friends. However, at training camp it just felt like we were all already friends who hadn’t met yet. J Thank God for that! That was one of my biggest fears going to training camp and God just completely came in and took care of it! God is awesome!

Training camp also included:
– Camping out every night
– Carrying 45lb packs around for exercise (and repacking them)
– Campfires
– 8 people eating off of one plate, sometimes without utensils
– Not using my left hand on India day because it is culturally frowned upon, making it difficult as a lefty. 🙂

– Eating food I’ve never had before
– Limited hygiene due to 4 bathrooms for 200 people (very smelly week)
– Incredible times of worship and learning about God
– Crazy, realistic scenarios involving losing half our squads packs, the border patrol, and an African marketplace (feel free to ask about this! 😉 )
– Healing, spiritual and physical
– Encountering the Holy Spirit
– Team building that eventually led to my awesome team!
So as you can see a lot happened at training camp! This doesn’t even begin to describe the entire week! I can say that I am on an awesome team with a great group of people. We are all pretty different but we just click! Our team name is Team Meno. The word “meno” is Greek for remain or abide. We chose it based off of John 15. We as a team want to strive to remain in Christ. So here is our team!

Derek, Micah, Heather, Me, Carrie, Civanna, and Chris.
Also, we found out during training camp that our route has changed a bit. We are going to these countries in this order:
Zambia
Malawi
Estonia
Latvia
Lithuania
China
Mongolia
Thailand
Cambodia
Vietnam
Nepal

AIM made this decision in order to keep us safe and to keep costs down for us. This is the reason the countries were changed. I was a tad sad that I wouldn’t be able to go to those countries, but the countries that have been replaced are going to be awesome! I am looking forward to serving in these new places! I am ready for God to move in big ways and to transform my heart as well as those of the people we will be serving!
Please pray for my team and my squad as we prepare to leave the country in 2 months. Pray for those who are out on the field now that God would use them to transform villages for His glory! Also, if you would like to support me financially I am halfway towards meeting my goal but I need the other half in order to serve the full 11 months.

You can give by clicking the “Support Me!” button on the left column.
Thank you to those of you who are already supporting me! I couldn’t go without you! Thank you and God bless!
