I may have failed to mention that I was leading one of the Ambassador trips this summer.  Sorry about that!
I went to Costa Rica with 4 high school students and a co-leader.
We stayed in Ortega, Santa Cruz, Costa Rica.
I love, love, love the people in this tiny community and really felt like I was part of their family.  .
I was so blown away with how much God loves me on this trip.  I was reminded everyday by the students, the scenery, the locals and my co-leader.  Getting to go on this trip was a present straight from Jesus to me.
So much happened during the 2 weeks that it would be hard to put into words. So instead I will give you some pictures…

One morning Fresi taught us how to make Costa Rican pancakes.   So tasty!!

Here is Fresi again cooking us some of the most delicious food I have eaten.  This woman and the others who cooked with her were some of the most joy-filled people I have ever met.  Fresi inspires me to be grateful in every circumstance.

We helped run a VBS and got to witness some traditional Costa Rican games.  These two girls Noa and Karen were team favorites.  Both so much fun to laugh and play with.

This is James, one of the students, and my co-leader Keith showing off their Costa Rican gaming skills.

The ladies in the church make and sell rugs, pillows and blankets.  This is Pastor Jose’s wife, Dominga, teaching Victoria (sometimes known as Veronica – if the locals forget her name) how to make a rug.

The kids at VBS loved to play soccer!

We planted trees at the local school and on the farm where we hosted VBS.  We’ve been promised pictures of the trees as they grow.  I’m looking forward to being reminded of the sweet moments in Costa Rica when those pictures come.  What a great reminder of the seeds that were sown and God’s faithfulness to continue the work.

Many hours were spent with our team and Pastor Jose’s family around this table.  I’m not sure I have ever enjoyed meals more.  These two girls, Karen and Noa, both own pieces of my heart.

Here’s the whole gang.
Emily, Victoria(Veronica), Keith, Me, Allie, James
I love them all a whole lot and am so blessed to have been included on this journey with them.  I believe God has changed us all for the better and can’t wait to hear what God has planned for them in the future.
