so its your first birthday in heaven
and we’re thinking of you down here
we’ll contemplate the things that might have been
in the happenings of your 25th year
a celebration of all of your laughs
a commemoration of the life that you brought
when thinking alongside heaven’s behalf
its no wonder home wanted you sooner than we thought
who can tell what it feels to be there
has it been a moment or a lifetime of years?
it seems like the second for those here who love you
without your smile, without you near
but we know that true joy is yours
as you settle into to our actual home
