Child like faith ..
I love how God talks about child like faith in His word (matthew18:1-4).Maybe this is because of my love slash obsession with children . I don't know why but ever since I can remember I have been drawn to children , yes I am that annoying girl who ALWAYS comments at EACH kid that comes in view and can't contain myself from saying Oh How Cute are they ?
As you can imagine I was ecstatic about getting the opportunity to serve with Sarah's Covenant Home Orphanage. Are you kidding getting the chance to play with children, hold, tickle, laugh , and take them to the beach is a dream come true. The difference with this orphanage is these children aren't ordinary children, they have many disabilities and can't function on their own. Most of them are unable to walk on their own, and many are unable to have conversation with you, their playing consists of you visiting them on their beds and playing with them there , or carrying them to the courtyard as you hold them and try to make them laugh .
As this picture is horrifying and overwhelming for any parent, brother , sister or friend , God has shown me so much good and brought so many blessings through this orphanage . As odd as it is , I see so much joy through these children and many of their caretakers as well. God has given me a love for these children that I have not experienced thus far on the race , I have loved other children before and on the race but not to the extent of these children. Each day that I visit them pieces of my heart are left behind. I find it an absolute joy to care for them as I practice my version of physical therapy with them , hold them in my arms and tickle and laugh with them , sing songs, and read them the bible . Here are the main children I spend time with daily , the ones I will miss dearly when the time comes to go to a new country . It is my joy to introduce to you : Jodi, Cedar , Jeff, Joshua, and Nolan . I have attached their personal links for you to be able to learn more about them and possibly sponsor if able!
This is Jodi a girl with lots of energy , lots of laughs , and desire to walk on her own , she is growing and using a walker 🙂 I can't wait for the day that she walks on her own :)) ! http://www.schindia.com/ChildSponsor/jodi/

Meet Cedar ,he is blind with cerebral palsy but let me tell you I havent met a kid that laughs and smiles as much as he does . He also is learning how to stand up on his own .. He has not started to walk on his own but I have hope and excitement for the day that he does .

Here is Jeff. This little boy loves to be paid attention to, but has an independent spirit about him, he doesn't want you to just hold him he wants you to work with him and try to get him to walk , and when u do so he laughs so much !! http://www.schindia.com/ChildSponsor/jeff/

Meet Joshua , he is such a sweet boy , who I have not seen walk , but when you hold his hand and smile at him calling out his name he lights up ! He has a tender heart filled with love .

Last but certainly not least meet Nolan
This little boy lights up my life . Everyday I go to visit him makes it harder to leave ! He is very intelligent and can walk when holding onto your hands . He loves when you read him the bible, sing to him, and tickle him . He is filled with energy , and also has a tender heart. When it's time to leave and I have to put him down he always cries . I wish that I could take this boy home with me , unfortunately it's not the time right now , he is not sponsored at all for medical care ,or extra supplies needed l I ask that you would pray and ask God to provide for this sweet boy! Here is his link if you feel led to sponsor him

These kids have taught me so much about how God sees us and desires for us to rely on Him as they have no choice but to rely on the woman who feed them , play with them, bathe them , and most importantly love them . They realize their need for these woman , something that God has been teaching me a lot lately .
He desires an ultimate reliance on Him, that when we realize our need for Him we are able to have a deeper understanding of what He has done for us , and live a life that does truly worship Him with a heart of thankfulness, and joy . This is the desperation God desires from us His children ,and to realize how awful we are without Him . He is the ONLY thing good in us , that apart from Jesus we would be going to hell.
Matthew 18:1-4 that time the disciples came to Jesus saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"He called a child, had him stand among them, and said, "I tell you the truth, unless you turn around and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven!Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Serving at this orphanage has shown me the true meaning of humbling ourselves before God as these children have, and my need for Jesus. As He begins to unveil how much He has truly saved me from and who He is I fall more in love with Him , and it really is a joy to serve Him in the fullness He desires.
Thank you for reading and taking part in this journey !! I'm sure you have fallen in love with these kids as much as I have:) love y'all , praying that God will start increasing your awareness of your need for Him 🙂 !!
