My family doesn't fund raise. When I was little, I wasn't allowed to sell wrapping paper for school, candy bars for sports, or even Girl Scout cookies… sad 🙁 My parents were firm believers of donating to the cause, just not going door to door and asking friends and family to buy things they probably didn't need in the first place. Mom and Dad would write a small check to said organization and that would be the end of it.
$15,500 is A LOT of money and it's been really humbling to see how the Lord has handled this one. Before embarking on this mission, I prayerfully considered asking 100 of my closest friends to contribute $15.50 for 10 months. I figured that's like giving up 3 Starbucks a month (totally doable 😉 That was before realized that I needed to be fully funded by month 6. Math FAIL!
Originally when I told my sweet grandmother of this "plan" she responded with, "That's funny, I spoke to Jesus and He said that exact amount!" Very cool! The next morning she woke up and informed me that she had spoken to Him again and over night had doubled the amount! "Grandma, that's waaayy too much money!" I shouted. "Well, it's God's money, not mine. It's not like I'm going to go destitute." And there you have it, my first support raised.
Praying that the Lord would stir people's hearts in ways only he could, I have be soooo incredibly blessed by the outpouring of financial support received! I am excited to announce that with the help of generous donations, I am half way there! Today I checked my fundraising balance and $7,750 is in the bank. Exactly one week ahead of my personal goal schedule! All the Glory to God!!!
Thank you to those who have already given and those who will give in the future! I am truly blessed by your generosity!
