You can be anything you want to be in your life.. but don’t be that.
Follow your dreams.. but not that dream.
Pick whatever major you want.. but not that major.
Go to college or you’re a failure..
Isn’t the society we live in such an odd contradiction? They tell us our whole life that we can choose to be and do anything we want but yet, they turn on us when we have chosen to do something they quite don’t understand. Do not let people hinder you because only you will understand the callings God has put in your heart. God says “For i know the plans i have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (jeremiah 29:11)
As much as you want to plan your life God has a way of re-alining it with his plans for you, thats what you call Gods will. He does not hinder nor mislead us like society does when we follow our dreams. “People of the lord are meant to be people who are set apart.” The exact words i heard in church when i had been praying about leaving college and my everyday comfortable life to be a missionary for a good portion of the next year, I decided to go where ever he may lead my life.
What is your life worth to you? What was your life worth to jesus when he died on the cross for you and me? Its worth a whole lot more than we could ever understand. Everybody has something in their life worth chasing. And although the people around us may not understand our decisions, we know it to be right in our heart. Remember Jesus only had 12 followers, he did not need the acceptance of his actions from society because he knew the will His Father had for him.
The world outside of God has us believing we have to follow a cookie-cutter layout of what’s thought to be “successful”, that is the most horrible injustice against todays younger people. So, again.. Whats your life really worth to you? Will you let society mislead and hinder the plans God has put in your life just because you don’t have many supporters? I know i wont. Jesus didn’t die for just anything. Success is Being exactly what God called us to be and fighting to death to live that out.
