If you haven’t heard yet, I have a new address. I moved out of my place about two months ago now.  But before I moved, I took one last look around my apartment seeing all of the furniture and other possessions that I had acquired over the years, realizing that I had taken most of it for granted, and then I decided to sell nearly everything.

Goodbye to my comfy couch that had been home to many conversations with friends and when those conversations carried well into the evening, the couch turned into a bed.  Goodbye to my coffee pot that brewed countless cups of pumpkin coffee which will be nothing but a memory when I am waking up in Malawi next October.  Goodbye to many of the pictures, trinkets, and other items I once held dear as décor in the home I had made for myself.  Goodbye comfort and goodbye independence.  None of it mattered much anymore, it didn’t even compare to the mission I had been called to, so I become friends with a guy named Craig and his well-known list and before I knew I had freed myself from these items.

I packed up what few bags and boxes remained and moved back into my parents’ house.  I am a 32 year old who just returned to the nest.  Gulp. I tell myself it’s just temporary.  I am just passing through. Don’t get me wrong, I am so gracious for their hospitality and decision to even welcome me back.  But what’s next?

Well in my family it seems we watch a lot of HGTV so naturally the next big thing on my agenda is to do a little house hunting.  Like most people searching for a little piece of the American dream that they can call home, I have a wish list of qualities that my next place should have.  I want it to be cozy, well-ventilated, have space for storage but nothing too spacious that will be hard to maintain.  And I need it to weigh less than 5 pounds.

Yep, for the next 11 months my dream home is a 2 person tent just big enough for myself and my pack; yet light enough to carry around the world on my back. After researching every tent on the market (Can you believe the House Hunters on TV only get 3 choices?!?), I decided that this beautiful Marmot Limelight 2P had everything I was looking for and was within the budget.

I will officially break in my tent at the housewarming party aka World Race Training Camp which I recently found out is scheduled for October 11-18th in Gainesville, Georgia.  If you are interested in supporting me, I still need to raise $1,250 to attend camp and I have a few other housewarming gifts that could come in handy next year.  You can view them here: http://www.myregistry.com/wishlist/Amber-Hoffmann-Mount-Dora-FL/617105
