What do you get when you have a soccer field, world racers, an ipod with speakers,
scorching heat, various tools, and a desire to have fun?? Philippines dance party!!!
We have been working on this soccer field all month, rain or shine, and it has been
the most rewarding work thus far on the race.
Well the other day, we had been working on the field all day, and we had the ipod going through a set of the little portable speakers. It came to the time to stop working and the boys decided they were going to use their tools to do a catwalk on the field. We turned up the music and began to watch them strut their stuff.. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life. I had no idea we were traveling with male models on the squad. haha. Then a few of us girls joined in, and before I knew it, it had turned into a full fleged dance party!
If you ask me, there is no better way to end a hard days work, then dancing around
with your brothers and sisters on a soccer field, with shovels in hand.
The joy we had was so encouraging. It would be so easy for us to have been cranky
because we had to work on a field in the heat all day, and to just want to run inside
to our ice cold showers before dinner time. But, we were filled with such joy from the
Lord, that not only had it been a great time working, we were amped up enough to dance around. This, to me, was a true example of the joy Christ has demanded us to have as believers.
The dance party is by far one of my favorite moments of the race, and probably ever!
