Tonight was awesome to say the very least. The teens we have been living with put together some dances and skits to perform for us as a thank you. My team, and team B.R.A.D.Y. sat in a semi circle of chairs to watch what they had prepared. Filled with anticipation, they finally played the music and they began to dance. Their life and energy brought me such joy as they danced and laughed, and seem to be glowing. We clapped along as they did their dances and sang along if we knew they words, it as so much fun. Then they had a few skits prepared, they were so funny. Each one of them knew their roles so well, they had clearly practiced a lot. So I am watching these skits, and crying from laughing so hard, they did such a fantastic job! Little did I know the turn this night was about to take…
Juanita comes up to the front and announces that they are going to wash our feet, and pray over us. It was in the simplest form, humbling. They began to bring buckets out and towels, Raquel comes to me and begins to wash my feet. As they begin to do this, they play the song, “Thank you for giving to the Lord”, It was one of the most beautiful moments I have ever experienced. Most of us began to ball our eyes out. I def teared up just from seeing the hearts of these teens willing to serve us, and be Jesus to us! I could not believe how insanely blessed we were to be apart of their lives, even if just for that brief month, I will ever forget them or what they did for us. My prayer is that they never stop seeking the Lord, and that their fire is never put out. I know God is faithful to complete the work that He has started in them!
