*Update* My blog now lives here!
Leaving. It’s the worst.
In India, time isn’t controlled by a schedule but revolves around relationships. There’s chai, curry, roti. It’s acceptable to go everywhere barefoot. And there are the regular challenges of how many people we can fit in the Cruiser and trying to cross the street to get to the running park. These are all parts of life that I appreciate about India.
The reason I really love India though is the people. I have been to quite a few countries, and I’m convinced that Indians have the best smiles in the world. I think it comes from joy that is deeper than words can describe. My brothers at Covenant Worship have such pure hearts and so much passion. They are always ready to pray with a faith that expects God to do miracles. Worship to them isn’t just singing along to a song in church; it’s pouring out their hearts and lives to their Savior. They taught me what it means to have a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.
I got to know my brothers the best, but I made friends nearly everywhere I went. The friends I made are so genuine. They have such sweet and kind hearts. I am so thankful that God put all of these people into my life, and I really hated leaving.
God called me to finish the Race, but He has given me so much confirmation about returning to India that I have peace and joy in the midst of mourning what I left behind. This video is a glimpse into the place that I love so much.
