Hi!

I really hope this letter finds you well! Although you probably are aware of my graduation from Wofford last May, my life since is most likely a mystery to you. Growing up, adults always referenced the real world as a passive warning of what is to come. And if I am being honest, I should have listened more because this past year has been the most difficult year of my life. However, amidst trying to find a job and figure out my future career and graduate school plans, I have come to know that the most important thing is for me to be where I believe God wants me to be. And it was through this understanding that this journey began.

I remember being beckoned into my roommate’s room about a month before graduation as she rambled on about the World Race, a trip that with a lifetime supply of student loan debt should have been immediately disregarded. A trip in which one gets to spend 11 months loving and helping the people of 11 different countries. A trip of a lifetime.  Although I knew that there was no logical way for me to embark on such a journey, something inside me convinced me to bookmark it on my computer. However, due to the state the “real world” had left me in, that bookmark became more than a hypothetical adventure as I emerged myself into the stories of veterans of the field. And in substitution to the graduate school applications I was supposed to be filling out, I found myself applying. And before I knew it, I was accepted!

As a member, I will spend the 11 months of the World Race serving in partnership with local ministries in order to help meet the critical needs of that community.  Some of these needs are fulfilled though: serving orphans, children with disabilities, and women who are trapped in prostitution; teaching English; ministering in prisons; community service; providing for the sick; and most importantly, just loving some of those who need it most. My team specifically will be traveling to Ireland Turkey Albania, Ukraine, Romania, India, Nepal, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Cambodia, Thailand, and Taiwan!  I truly believe that I have been called to embark on this journey, and I believe it will be life-altering. And although I possess a multitude of fears, I want to show others the love, the hope, and the forgiveness that has been so graciously shown to me. I want to follow the path I think God is calling to. But this journey will only be possible with your help!

As expected, a journey like this is expensive- $16,000 expensive. The $16,000 will cover my travel, food, and lodging expenses for the year. And although not a lot of money for the circumstance, it is an amount impossible to raise on my own. So I am asking you to please consider being a part of this journey, or at least supporting me being a part of it. If you pray, please pray for me. If you would like to support me financially (which all donations are tax deductible!), please click on the "Support me, please!" tab in the left-hand column. Also, if you would like more information or to follow my journey, please continue to read my blog.

Thank you so incredibly much in advance for any support you are able to offer! I really am so grateful.

All my love.
