This day started
off just as a normal day, but ended in tragedy. It was our first off day in Nepal, so we went about the day having fun, not having a care in the world. We even had dinner at a church member’s house thinking that after we were done eating we would just go back home. Oh man were we in for a whole different turn of events. It was around 10:30 pm when we had finished with team time and our ministry contact came and knocked on our door telling us that a family has come over for prayer, because their little girl was being possessed by a demon. I have never been around anything like this before, so of course once they say demon I get all nervous and freaking out because I still don’t know how to handle situations like this. I still don’t know if the girl was ever possessed by a demon, but I can tell you that she did have pneumonia.
When we get outside this is what we saw: Her father was holding her close to his chest as if he was afraid to let her go. Her mother was in the back crying tears of pain and unknowing of how to handle the situation. When I gazed down at the girl she looked so fragile. Her body was long and skinny like she had not eaten anything in weeks. She could not keep her eyes open, could barely breathe, could not let out a cry, and had no energy to even try to get some food into her body.
When we get to talk to the family we find out that they had spent ALL their money, which is not a lot, trying to heal this precious little girl of theirs. They had seen doctors and witch doctors and coming to the church for prayer was their last choice and last option. God was their last choice. The father kept telling us that they were all alone and did not know what to do. And so as the body of Christ what did we do…. We prayed for this sweet child, we declared things on this baby, and I sang to her as if she were my own child.
During these 45 minutes of prayer over this child I was look at her and breaking down,
because I saw and felt her pain.
Finally, our contact stopped us in our prayer and said that they parents needed to take the little girl to the emergency room. We were not satisfied leaving the family with just that. We asked around to see how much the emergency room was, knowing that the family had no money. As a team we decided to give the family 3,000 rubies which is around $35. This is not a lot of money, but it was something to help them. The next day, we found out the a couple hours after getting to the hospital the little girl passed away.
This sight/ this situation broke my team and me. There were/is so many questions running through our heads. So many things that only God can answer.
But, I am telling you this entire story to show you that The World Race is not only fun and adventurous, but it is serious.
My dear supporter if you are wondering what happens to the money that you give this is what it goes to!!! This is God’s KINGDOM! The money that is given is not spent of fun/games it helps the people in this world.
