Here are just a few of the highlights from our month in Malaysia, in no particular order. Enjoy!

Who knew Malaysia was so diverse? On more than one occasion I found myself looking around the dinner table noticing the multiple nationalities present! Above you find Chinese, North American, Malaysian, Indian, French, and Singaporian present! Louis, the Frenchman (front right) and Joyce, the Singaporian (to the right of Louis) prepared some yummy dinners for us before heading back into the jungle.

Afternoon tea time holds some of my most memorable times spent in Gua Musang, Malaysia. Aunt Kim offered us many delicious looking treats which after taking the first bite we quickly realized whatever appeared to be chocolate was actually some kind of bean curd or seaweed wrap! Yummm….NOT

Singing "Amazing Grace" acapella at the Presbyterian Church we attended Wednesday nights before surprising Uncle Chua with a homemade birthday cake! It was exciting to be in a Presbyterian church for the first time in 5 months. I was reminded of my church family back home through the friendly handshakes and smiles we were greeted with each service.

One of the pastors we worked with this month started a ministry in the jungle. Chris and I were the first from our team to brave the hour and a half trek. It was quite a ride to say the least! God put it on my heart to remind these men about the spiritual warfare we face as Christians and how we have prayer and God's Word to fight against the evil forces coming against us.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Teaching village kids how to count to 10 in English and the colors of the rainbow.

On our last day Aunt Kim spoiled us girls with a day at the salon! We got our hair professionally washed and styled! It was so much fun! I was incredibly excited to be rid of my frizzy curls for a day!

A typical meal here in Malaysia served with rice and Chinese tea.
