Watch tower in San Vicente

San Vicente is a beautiful city an hour and half bus ride from San Salvador. We traveled here early Friday morning for several reasons. My host, Cindy, grew up here with her family (3 brothers and 1 sister). Her parents knew of a church in the mountains preparing for a campaign meeting (revival) that we were to be a part of.

As soon as we arrived in San Vicente, we climbed the watch tower, took pictures, and prayed the Lord's blessing on our families, our teams, and the day ahead of us.
A few hours later, I found myself in the back of a pickup truck with 18 of my squadmates on our way to the revival. Upon arriving, we met the pastor briefly and prayed for the hearts of the people we would be inviting to the campaign. We were told to split up into groups and to begin walking around the neighborhood knocking on people's door to invite them out to the event.
As I walked down the dirt street passing homes made of mud and thatch I felt sorry for the people who lived there but at the same time I am challenged to reconsider the life of comfort I live.
