First off, Im completely embarrassed that it has taken me this long to write my first blog post – Im so behind the curve on this one! Ive considered posting things several times but each time I would talk myself out of it because nothing seemed "important" enough to share with the whole internet, but the race is quickly approaching and Ive decided to get over myself and dive into it!

So, without further adieu..

Today was the first day of Vacation Bible School at my church. I had been involved in small ways in the past, but this year I was asked to be the Worship Leader – which is basically the person who runs the whole morning rally each day. I of course said "yes!" right away, not only because I figured it would be great practice for this next year, but also because I was chosen as the missionary that the kids will support & learn about this week – which is such an awesome blessing.

Now, Im not usually a shy person – like… at all – but when I got on that stage in front of 90+ kids and their adult leaders I was nervous ! The great thing about kids though is that you can fumble all over yourself and they dont care at all haha but the whole experience was so much fun and I just kept thinking "I cant wait to do this with kids all over the world!" There's nothing better than seeing the look on a childs face when you talk about Jesus.

The idea of the World Race has been so theoretical in my head so far. Even as I buy my gear and raise funds it all seems surreal – but today was definitely a reality check for me and I could not be more excited for what this year has in store.
