lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He
will make your paths straight.”
I thought thispicture was kind of fun when I came across it…but realistic at the same
time. Sometimes I feel like (or in this case it looks like) I am hanging
from a ledge…but in actuality God is in control and I am standing on solid
ground. At times, I know this trip will be crazy intense, but I am excited to
trust God and rely on Him in new ways.
I am 23 years old
and grew up in Visalia, CA. I was born and raised in a
Christian home with loving parents and a brother who is 5 1/2 years older.
I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was five years old on the church
playground. Since then I have grown in my faith oh so slowly…but surely.
Currently, I work
for a non-profit organization, with kids in our group homes, doing work in
Special Needs. If a kid is sick, suspended, has a court date, or doctors
appointment throughout the day, they will get to hang out with me. It is
an interesting job and has been fun getting to know each one of the kids. It is
one of those jobs though that you can’t quite predict what will happen in the
next five minutes . . . and certainly keeps me on my toes.
I graduated with a
degree in Sociology from Biola University in 2007. During college, I also
spent a semester at the Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado Springs. It was an experience I would
recommend to anyone and a place I was able to get to know God deeper than I had
known before.
I know God is
going to do some AMAZING things through this trip and I am eager to be a part
of it!
