Hello family and friends!
I am writing to update you on my life and what the Lord has been teaching me over the last few months while on The World Race. I have seen and experienced a lot in the last nine months. I have been able to share in people’s burdens, sorrows, happiness, and laughs! I spent five days with my dad in Romania, I saw him share the Lord with many people during home visits, as well as see him play Goliath in front of a children’s after school program. To say this year has been life changing would be an understatement, but just because it is coming to an end, doesn’t mean the next chapter won’t be just as life changing.
Throughout this whole Race the Lord has been showing me what passions I have inside me and how they line up with the passions He has for me. As some of you know I worked in student ministries when I was in Virginia and to say I loved it, is a bit of an understatement! I am obsessed with students, specifically 11-13 year olds, as well as God centered, Biblical community. I have learned that no matter where I am and what I do, I will have to fight for community. I have seen first hand how hard, challenging, painful, beautiful, encouraging and amazing community is. I want students to grasp an understanding of this early on. I want them to get it before I got it at 24 years old. Kids change so much from middle school, to high school and as they enter college. When you know what solid Biblical community looks like, you know how to fight for it. I want to show this to students. I want them to enter any new phase of their life and know there are people around them that will love them and push them towards Christ.
So with all that said I am returning to Belize after The World Race is over! I will be going July 5 to August 10!!! I will be partnering with Machaca Outreach Ministries, working their youth summer camps and in their cafe!
I met John and Lisa Gotz, who run Machaca, in April while doing Unsung Heroes in Belize! Unsung Heroes is a ministry where we go around a country and meet with missionaries, pastors, and missions organizations who are bringing the Kingdom where they are. John and Lisa are an incredible couple who love the Lord and are bringing His Kingdom! They loved on my team so well. They gave us a place to stay and food to eat. While talking with Lisa one day she expressed their need for workers this summer for their youth camps, I had to stop myself from drooling! I was immediately thinking how can I get back here? I want to love on some kids and show them Jesus! Now I have the opportunity to pour into the kids at Machaca in just that way!
Would you consider partnering with me once again both financially and through pray as I head back to Belize? I am raising funds through gofundme.com/amandabelize.
